It's appropriate to put default on the radar. IMHO, we are setup for a "soft default", and may already be well on our way, though I haven't seen that discussed elsewhere. We're in Bull market... but I've I opened a position in TAIL. I always appreciate your take.

Thanks Michael...I am working on a "big" piece right now, specifically talking about default. Naturally, its not so straitforward. I think you will enjoy it once its done. But yes....bull market, enjoy it while we can!

Can you share or make a post explaining your criteria for this official bull run? I’m assuming you’re basing this on higher highs / higher lows

Thanks, Tim. Tips for long term investors who want to VTI/VTSAX and chill…and get on with their lives?

Thanks, Tim — appreciate the thoughtful reply. Curious your take on true long-term holders — the kind who aren’t shaken by 20% drawdowns if they’re in it for 10–20 years.

I’ve honestly been mostly in money markets out of caution, but I want to shift into VTI/VTSAX and stay the course without having to overthink every chart. Any thoughts for people like me who aren’t traders, just want to invest wisely and get on with the daily grind. You are doing great work — thanks for putting yourself out there.

Hi Jane, so price action supports a "long term investor” mindset. My speculation is it wont last though. Its looks identical to the 2020 bottom…and a few similarities to 2022 (a bit different in that we dont have any confirmation bounces really)…so the answer is yes…but I speculate it wont last more than a year.
