The quick story: Starting February 2025, I will be posting stock market and economic content here on Substack.
I will keep this short on why I will not be transitioning to another platform:
YouTube:
Owned by Google; Google donated over $11M in political lobbying dollars. YouTube made $31.5B in ad revenue in 2023. The creators were paid pennies on the dollar. By creating content on this platform, the artists are essentially beggars. Can a creator carve out a living on YouTube? Absolutely. Doesn’t change the fact that its pennies on the dollar. I refuse to contribute to a corporation that rides on the backs of common people, especially when it is in bed with politicians.
Once had 50,000 followers on YouTube (before I started investigating corporations more). The amount of work that goes into creating content is laborious…and the ability to connect with the audience minimal. A lot of work, for very little benefit.
Meta:
Zuckerberg. The slimiest of snakes, cozying up to politicians.
Basically all the same reasons as YouTube above. Generates billions, political lobbying, etc.
X:
I am not left. I am not right. My personal opinion is that it has taken several decades of corrupt politicians on BOTH sides, that have resulted in the current state of the world; people angry at health care insurance…inability to buy groceries due to inflation…the fact that BOTH sides of the aisle voted to ban TikTok, even though this was against the vast majority of people. X has become heavily conservative, and I prefer to not be associated with either side. Plus, Elon just made over $440B. I dont want to be an employee of Elon.
This applies to Bluesky as well, except liberal. And to be honest, I think Bluesky will dwindle away same as Threads.
I will be posting, occasionally, on SnapChat (its far less of a political corporation, relative to the aforementioned companies). And MAY post on The Neptune App. Currently I am in the Beta program for testing. We will see how that goes. Could be great, could be a flop. I will keep you updated.
What is the Format?
Great question, this is where your input will be greatly appreciated. This is my ROUGH DRAFT idea. Let me know what you think.
SPX/SPY/Bitcoin: First week of the month. Analysis will be based on current economic conditions, with an application of leads and lags of various factors. Chart reviews will be based off the Weekly time frame. The review will include “up” or “down” prediction.
Stock Pick: Second and third week of the month. Same as SPX/SPY/Bitcoin description. Note that I rarely invest in SPY. I will annotate whether I did or did not buy the asset being reviewed (I can’t buy every single chart I ever review). The stock picks will be either: 1. A stock that I found and has potential in my opinion, or 2. A stock pick request. These will also be on the weekly timeframe, and generally will only be ones I think “up”. Though I may throw a short position every now and then for my fellow bears out there…Our NVDA short continues to print 😏 They will NOT be in my discord…substack only. Some of these will be public, some not. Frankly, I think tossing me a cup of coffee for all the free work, that I have done for 4 years, and will continue to do, would just be something that I would like. Ive turned down literally hundreds of sponsorship offers to keep my reputation clean. Id like a cup of coffee. Just being blunt and candid…per usual 😀
Conversation Piece: Last week of the month. Could be any major world news that is impacting the markets, or could impact the markets.
Most of my articles will be between 1 to 2 pages.
What do you think? How can this be better?
Definitely going to be worth a cup of coffee a month. Keen to learn
Thanks TJ. Great to see that a nominal amount is being added for the very valuable info you provide. The only thing I would propose is to add key take aways and suggested sources to further a reader's understanding/knowledge if the reader wants.
Thank you!
